HOYAS: Who We Are.

 We are an IRS recognized 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization located in Durant, MS to serve the Holmes County Community. Our programming focus is on children, youths and adults in education, health awareness and workforce development to stimulate the economics in the community. We are a subsidiary of our parent organization Team HOYAS that offers teen and adult programming with primary focus on culinary arts through küche, a nonprofit fully operational cooking, dining and culinary educational facility.

 

In 2014 HOYAS started its movement towards Helping Our Youth Achieve Success. Time is spent sharing the vision with community members, building partnerships educational facilities, church community leaders and other ready to make a change in the community. The suport to our organization from the community has began to strengthen and is steadily growing.

 

HOYAS offers CURES!, HELP! and the STARS! programs for the community. With the motivation of the board and volunteers, HOYAS will continue to move in the right direction to successfully accomplish its mission towards Helping Our Youth Achieve Success.

 

HOYAS branched from Team HOYAS. Team HOYAS founded in 1998 by Rev. Robert P. Scott, Sr. a United Methodist pastor and retired Army Veteran. He is the husband of Nellie Scott and the father of Robyne Scott (Glass), Roneda Scott and Robert P. Scott, Jr. Rev. Scott developed a passion for the food industry while in the Army. Once he retired from the military and began preaching, his passion became his ministry. He soon began to teach the youth in the community proper skills for hosting and catering events and how to operate a business. With the God-given vision, Team HOYAS was first created in Eupora, MS. Team HOYAS was effective, however, with a church re-appointment through the United Methodist church, Rev. Scott was relocated and Team HOYAS soon came to a stand still. Several years later, after Rev. Scott's children were grown, his second oldest child expressed her passion to become involved in the community and Team HOYAS was re-established once again in 2012. Team HOYAS' missions and purposes were fine tuned and Kuche non profit restaurant and HOYAS evolved.
