Mission Statement
We are a faith-based organization that exists to improve the quality of life of individuals in underserved communities by addressing the critical issues of education, healthcare and economic development through programs and services that exercise high standards of ethics, best practice management and accountability.
Team HOYAS provide services such as youth mentoring, after school programs, workforce development and academic enrichment. We are looking for people who are interested in the future of the children of this county, this state and this nation.

Centers for Urban Research and Enrichment
CURE! emphases in healthcare connects the underserved and disadvantaged in our community with critical information and training relevant to health care access and service.
Programming
CURE! is customizable and can be configured to meet a wide variety of community needs based on their needs. We help to:

Improve awareness of available healthcare services

Improve ability to access health care services

Train and mobilize citizens to serve the homebound and elderly

Mobilize public and private sectors to stand and work together to improve health awareness and responsible caring
Team HOYAS was founded in 1998 by Rev. Robert P. Scott, Sr. a United Methodist pastor and retired Army Veteran. He is the husband of Nellie Scott and the father of Robyne Scott-Glass, Roneda Scott and Robert P. Scott, Jr. Rev. Scott developed a passion for the food industry while in the Army.
Once he retired from the military and began preaching, his passion became his ministry. He soon began to teach the youth in the community proper skills for hosting and catering events and how to operate a business.
With the God-given vision, Team HOYAS was first created in Eupora, MS. Team HOYAS was effective, however, with a church re-appointment through the

the voice of Team HOYAS. As they received support, the organization began to strenghten and is steadily growing.
Team HOYAS now offers several programs for students and opportunities for community members to participate by volunteering. With the motivation of the board and volunteers, Team HOYAS will continue to move in the right direction to successfully accomplish its mission towards Helping Our Youth Achieve Success. >>
United Methodist church, Rev. Scott was relocated and Team HOYAS soon diminished.
Several years later, after Rev. Scott's children were grown, his second oldest child expressed her passion to become involved in the community and Team HOYAS was re-established once again in 2012. The missions and purposes were defined and Team HOYAS began working within the Holmes County, MS community.
In 2012 Team HOYAS started its mission towards Helping Our Youth Achieve Success. Time was spent sharing the vision with the community, building partnerships with the school district, churches and community leaders.

Youth Enterpernership Steps
YES! is centric around economic development. We provide youths and young adults with marketable skills and workforce training combining professionalism, character education and entrepreneur steps to success.
PROGRAMMING
YES! identifies the need for essential components to be in place for the Holmes County community economics to develop and grow.
YES! educate students in their last two years of high school and young adults in ethics, business acumen and economic sustainability.
Küche Program
küche, a cooking, dining, and culinary educational facility, our students from enthusiastic novices to a practical working level in 12 weeks. This rigorous course is mostly hands-on and is designed to teach the essentials and art of cookery, combined with kitchen and time management, focusing on enterpernership skills.
Programming
Our students understand how inventory management, food production, and unproductive hours deplete a companies resources and can stagnate personal and professional growth and goals.
Over the course of the program we cover essentials like baking, supervisory skills, mother sauces, food cost controls, proper preparation and fabrication of meats and vegetables, and how to make dishes that create a stir. We also stress professionalism at all times as they are joining an elite organization of providing nourishment and guidance in the kitchen. Our students are also required to take foodservice classes to receive a certification.
By the end of the course our students have confidence in the kitchen, and are eager to share their new skills and start on their journey. We follow our students as interns and monitor progress through weekly evaluations for 12 weeks after their placement.
